#3 LIL WAYNE - I AM NOT A HUMAN BEING EP

So Young Money released Weezys EP on his birthday. He himself is still in prison but he's coming out in October. The release was highly anticipated and when it was released (online first) it went straight #1 on iTunes HipHop chart. Lets break it down and listen to every song one by one and see if Weezy could keep up the form he showed on his "No Ceilings" mixtape.

TRACKS
1) Gonnorhea feat. Drake
Okay. First of all I have to say I never liked the beats Wayne picked for his tracks. Just like this one. The production provided by Kane Beatz is so uninspiring. Just like Wayne's flow. What a shame. His word play is good but he seems a bit lazy on this one. Drake doesnt add too much on this track. In fact I am even a little annoyed and bored by him.

Best line
Wayne: It's a crazy world - so I stay in mine

3/5

2) Hold Up feat. T-Streetz
Damn Weezy pick some better beats!! I wish he would cause these wack beats always prevent him to shine. His word play and flow is pretty sharp on this one. And what or who the fuck is T-Streetz? Damn, too bad.

1/5 (-1 because of that T-Street clown)

3) With You feat. Drake
Okay this one is strictly for the ladies. And Weezys does it good. Can't deny it. He is hideous but these songs make him attractive to the ladies I think (plus the millions on his bank account). Drake provides his singing voice on the hook on this one. Pay attention to the second verse: Weezys flow is crazy.

3/5

4) I Am Not a Human Being
Man...I can already tell you one thing: this ain't the joint to chill or ride to. This is some hectic rock rap shit. Lyricaly Wayne is OK..not more. But this beat and the hook is horrible. Not my thing at all.

1/5

5) I'm Single
This song was already on the No Ceilings mixtape and I think Wayne killed it. It was one of the best songs and it showed how talented this man really is. The production is provided by 40. Knowing this should already make you know that the beat is a killer. And it is. It even is one of the most atmospheric beats I have ever heard.
Anyway, this song was supposed to feature Drake but last minute changes made him get off it. Too bad though, because I think it would have been interesting to hear what and how Drake spits over this classic. One of the best songs on No Ceilings and the best on this EP.

Best line: We both say we single, and we both lying. We both wrong - but it feel right.

5+/5

6) What's Wrong With Them feat. Nicki Minaj
Ok this one's great. After I'm Single, this is just the second beat that pleased my ears on this EP. It suprised me to only hear Nicki on the hook. I was kind of disappointed that she didn't have a verse but she does a great job on the hook. Wayne's flow starting to get lazy again but his verses are great and the rhymes are great too. A nice song mostly due to Nickis hook though.

5/5

Best line
Wayne: The world is on my shoulders - should I dust my shoulders off?

7) Right Above It feat. Drake
This was the first single and it bangs. Except for Drake. His verse is that ridiculous Tim Westwood freestyle where he claims that it was "off the top". Watch it on YouTube and then go see the Affion Crockett parody. Hilarious.
Anways, back to the song. Like I said it bangs except for Drake. Wayne's verses are crazy, the beat is crazy and the hook is memorable and gets stuck right in your head. Wayne shines on this one. Credit goes out to Kane Beatz as well who provided the production.

5/5

8) Popular feat. Lil Twist
Another one for the ladies. Except for the fact that this one is listenable for the dudes. Lil Twist provides some support on the hook and he does is supprisingly acceptable.

4/5

9) That Ain't Me feat. Jay Sean
Great song. Makes you wanna fight and never give up. Wayne spits crazy as ever and Jay Sean is singing on the hook and boy is he good at it (no homo lol). This should have been the last song to make a great last impression. Message of the song: Wayne never gives up - and neither should you.

5/5

10) Bill Gates
This is like a gladiator hymn or the hymn to go make some money. Great song. 'Nuff said.

4/5

OVERALL 3.7/5
I have to admit that I was kind of disappointed of this EP. Too bad Weezy couldn't keep up the great form he showed on No Ceilings....Oh wait. He did: most of the beats just sucked.

Coming Up Next

For my third review I chose a EP that has just been released. Beware of my upcoming review of

I think i will be finishing it at the end of the day or tomorrow. We will see,

#2 RICK ROSS - TEFLON DON

so i decided to do a review of the newest album from the bawse himself. Ricky Rozay's

TEFLON DON

the album came out on July 20th.
FIRST WEEK SALES: 176,300 units

The album was highly promoted by Rick Ross himself. As he calls it "ground work". He even set up a Twitter account to reach out to his fans. Let's see if it was worth it.

The cover artwork is pretty cool I think. Better to see Ross' face then his fat body.

4/5

TRACKS

1) I'm not a Star (prod by  JUSTICE League)
Now that is what I call an energetic intro. Ross shines on a hectic production of JUSTICE League and kills it. Flow is legit, rhymes nice as always from Ross and the energy he puts in the mic is great. Nicely done

5/5

2) Free Mason (feat. Jay-Z) & John (prod by The Inkredibles)
The song leaked before the release and was highly celebrated. Ross does his thing and Jay-Z kills it again. Great hook and great verses by two great MCs.

5/5

3) Tears of Joy (feat. Cee-Lo) (prod by NO I.D.)
Wow. Cee-Los energy on this one is superb and Rick Ross is pretty fresh on this one. He spits deep verses and reflects on his past life and where he is now. Credit goes to NO I.D. as well since the beat is a bomb. Everything done right.

5/5

4) Maybach Music 3 (feat. Erykah Badu, T.I. & Jadakiss) (prod by JUSTICE League)
The Maybach Music tracks never stop it seems. This one seems extravagant. Great verse by T.I.. But I have to say that I dont think that Jadakiss and Badu really fit in in this one. Ross' verse is only ok. Production pretty cool.

3/5

5) Live Fast, Die Young (feat. Kanye West) (prod by Kanye West)
Kanye's production is again GENIUS. He provides the hook and is spot on. He did his thing, on the production, the hook and his verse. Ross is shining again on this crazy joint. Great verse and nice rhymes. The theme song for a great night.

5/5
6) Super High (feat. Ne-Yo Clark Kent, The Remedy)
I have to say that before I heard the original I only knew about the remix featuring Curren$y and Wiz Khalifa. And trust me: the remix is way better and original than this piece. Still a great joint to ride to.

3/5

7) Number 1 (feat. Diddy & Trey Songz) (prod by Danja)
Ok joint. Nothing more, nothing less. Diddys verse sucks.

3/5

8) MC Hammer (feat. Gucci Mane) (prod by Lex Luger)
WTF?

1/5

9) B.M.F. (feat. Styles P) (prod by Lex Luger)
WTF?! This is like the same song as before. Except this one works. A real banger Ross brought out here. When this song was released it was like the effin hymn for the streets. Good Job Ross.

5/5

10) Aston Martin Music (feat. Drake & Chrisette Michele) (prod by JUSTICE League)
Best song of the album. Chrisette Michele makes the song even radio friendly. Drake? Well strange he only provided his part on the hook. He released a verse over the beat called "Paris Morton Music" and he killed it. Maybe that was why he is only on the hook. But Ross' verses are pretty sick too so that won't be a problem.

5+/5

11) For All The Money In The World (feat. Raphael Saadiq) (prod by The Olympiks)
The last joint (already?!) on the album. Ross proves that he is one of the hottest in the game right now. He even dares to sing on the hook (without Auto-Tune). The songs title says it all and Ross delievers a nice last song to this great album. It's his best.

4/5

OVERALL 4/5

Ross proves his point: he is one of the best right now. This album shows his diversity and his abilities as a great MC. At this point he doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. Regardless of his corny past.
Nice!

#1 DRAKE - THANK ME LATER

so ill start with my first review. its an album thats been released a few months ago but still. i wanted to do it
so lets break it off

first off: this album has been so hyped up by everyone and everything. the expectations were pretty high and everybody wanted it to be a better "SO FAR GONE". but was that even possible? we will see

COVER ARTWORK
well we all know drake wants to be that artsy kind of guy so i guess thats why he didnt want to do a classic "standing in front of a sick car"-artwork. not even a normal photo. this cover is intented to be some sort of 3d thing and i guess it came out pretty OK.
so i will be giving the cover
3 / 5
since it doesnt express anything. all you see is drizzys face. cool effect though.

TRACKS
1) Fireworks (feat. Alicia Keys) 5:13 (produced by 40)
when i first read in a wikipedia article that this song was supposed to feature Kings Of Leon i was pretty excited since im a big fan of them. then i read they were replaced by alicia keys! that was kind of disappointing since i thought it could have been an interesting combination.
but that didnt do no harm to the song. alicia does her thing on the hook and so does drizzy with his verses. introrespective lyrics, a nice catchy rnb hook by a very talented singer and a downtempo beat that. everything done right on this joint.
5/5

2) Karaoke (prod by Francis & the Lights)
wow is he serious? this is straight up garbage...AT THE FIRST LISTEN. drakes singing voice is terrible but the mood of the song and the song itself grows on you
3/5

3) The Resistance (prod by 40)
well...drakes rapping was spot on and the beat fits perfectly with drakes verses. or vice versa. still the mood is not set right. drakes whining about being famous isnt really convincing.
the hook is nice though since everybody can relate to it
3/5

4) Over (prod by boi1da)
wow now this is a song to get crazy too. need to prepare yourself for a game or anything that needs you to get focused and KILL shit? then thats your hymn. great verses, crazy beat and cool hook.
5/5

5) Show Me a Good Time (prod by Kanye West)
GOD DAMN. with the first seconds this song had me HOOKED. the beat is just crazy and makes you wanna party hard. drakes flow is crazy too and at first he reminded me of T.I.
hook makes you wanna sing along all the time. it even got me so hooked that i can easily rap the verses along with drake.
best song on this album
5+/5

6) Up All Night (feat. Niki Minaj) (prod by boi1da)
hm. i dont like the song and i dont think it fits in this album. sorry drake
1/5

7) Fancy (feat. Swizz Beatz & T.I.) (prod by Swizz Beatz)
TERRIBLE hook from swizzy. alright verse delievered by drake and a naaah verse from T.I.
the only thing that saves this song is the beat change at the end of the song. 40 did his own version of swizzys beat and he KILLS it. drakes verses and singing fit very well with 40s changes on the beat and make it nice to listen to.
4/5

8) Shut it Down (feat. The-Dream) (prod by 40)
not my kind of joint. again only the end of the song is good where the beat changes.
3/5

9) Unforgettable (feat. Young Jeezy) (prod by 40)
aaliyah at the beginning, then drake, jeezy on a hook and a verse. great song. 40 did his thing again.
5/5

10) Light Up (feat. Jay-Z) (prod by 40)
wow beat is crazy again. 40 prooves on this one that he is a musical genius. drake verse was ok (i guess) but jay-z went IN. he kills drake on his own joint.
5/5

11) Miss Me (feat. Lil Wayne) (prod boi1da)
great song but drake lacks the energy that wayne is showing on this joint. a videos been shot for this song by the way but dont watch it unless you want to be disappointed.
4/5

12) Ceces Interlude (prod 40)
SKIPPED
0/5

13) Find Your Love (prod by Kanye West)
at first it was ok. then it was good. then it gets stuck in your head. great song eventhough it is kind of repetative
4/5

14) Thank Me Now (prod by Timbaland)
wow THAT is a timbaland beat? pretty uninspired me thinks. but drakes rapping is spot on and he gets his point accross. a worthy last song to the album
4/5

OVERALL 3.7/5

last words: so in conclusion of the break down i can say: THANK ME LATER could NOT meet up the expectations and is far behind SO FAR GONE (his own MIXTAPE!!!)
that is kind of disappointing but overall the album did good. it could have been much worse.

waddup tho
